Dublin Private Investigator Dan Boyle is on the case. The only problem is… he’s the prime suspect! It’s OUT NOW! Can you solve the mystery?

Official cover for THE GLASS EYE….. coming soon!

Coming FEB/MAR 2023,

Nov 7th,

First session in Lucan – the River Cafe, to be exact. Not bad, it has promise. And the writing wasn’t bad, either.

Oct 3rd,

Back in my real ‘office’ – the Metro Cafe where I learned how to write – not to mention the fact that they serve a damn fine coffee. Been coming here for about 15 years, and wrote pretty much everything here. Hopefully there’s a few more years left.

Sept 26th,

‘BREAKDOWN’ begins! The months of work begins. Billy Kerr is not in a holiday mood, but that’s exactly what faces him – two weeks of it. But first, he has a long drive ahead of him, a fractious wife and nervous children to contend with, and a very guilty conscience. It’s going to be a bumpy ride…..

Sept 15th,

I seem to like the word ‘Cheer’ a lot….

May 9th,

Writing, rewriting, more rewriting, submitting, rejections, then starting all over again. It begins and ends with the writing. The lack of surface success is tempered by the immeasurable satisfaction of the writing itself. There is sanctuary and salvation in the writing. Right now, it’s The Last Drop of Porter, and it’s going swimmingly. But it will soon be finished, and then we must start all over again. Every new day is the first day. Birth, death, rebirth…..fiction is fact, the only true reality.

Nov 9th,

Since 2007….. The Body Politic, The Boxer’s Dreams of Love, The Woman of Rivoli, Limb, Red Witch, The Last Day of the Month, The City of Lost Men, The Butcher, One Trick Pony, The Lists of Clay, North Strand, Serpent’s Close, Molly K, The Master of Melancholy, Reef on the Rocks, Lola, Who Missed the Train, The Street, The Road To God Knows Where, Songs of the Suburbs, The Hole In The Wall, The Town Without Cheer & Other Stories, The Fall of Mann, The Glass Eye, Fill His Cup With Cheer & Other Strange Tales, Missing Presumed, Pimlico……..and more to come.

June 7th….. First draft of PIMLICO finished! It’s the story of actor Danny Lynch who returns to his Dublin roots after 50 years to write his memoirs. Things don’t quite work out as he imagined….

The complete works….so far,

APRIL 22nd,

OUT NOW! Available in digital and prints formats- A short collection of short tales, strange tales, sad tales, shocking tales….and some poetry. A zookeeper decides to let the wolves run free. A man wakes up after a heavy night to find…he’s a deer? The priest hearing confession ends up making his own. And the morning coffee, made by the girl of his dreams, fills a man’s cup with cheer…even as the world is ending. It’s all here, and more in a book that’s short and sweet, and just a little but sour.

Feb 3rd,

Here’s what’s going on:

PIMLICO(ongoing) – A famous Irish actor returns to his Dublin roots to write his memoirs, and rest, but things don’t turn out quite the way he imagined

THE GLASS EYE(complete) – A Dublin private eye becomes the prime suspect in his own case. For publication later in 2021.

Tuesday, August 25th,

FREE Kindle version of LIMB from today until Sunday 30th. Two women are drawn together with devastating consequences. Dark, absurd, funny, this is a story about luck, misfortune and the resilience of the human spirit.

Friday, August 21st,

As I await the arrival of the new Elena Ferrante book, I am racing to finish The Story Of The Lost Child, the final book in her astonishing Neapolitan series. She writes with such ferocity, such forensic acuity, that she will surely be judged amongst the greatest writers of all time.

Wednesday, August 19th,

A year since the publication of THE TOWN WITHOUT CHEER & Other Stories, and what a year it has been! Dublin, the main character of the book, has certainly less to be cheerful about than ever before. But as before in times of strife and struggle, our resilience and humour will see us through to brighter days. Happy anniversary!

Tuesday, August 18th,

Since 2007, I have written almost everything, which is a lot, in the Metro Cafe on South William Street in Dublin city centre. Usually, I work four or five mornings a week for two to three hours. Of course, the hard work is done before I go in there, as I only write in the cafe, I don’t refer to my notes. That would be like an actor going on stage with his script.

Monday, August 17th, 2020,

Waking up before doing some writing,

Thursday, August 13th, 2020,

Possible cover for the next release, THE GLASS EYE, coming 2021…..

Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 –

Work continues on ‘Missing, Presumed…’ Almost half way through, fifty-thousand words and counting. What is it, a mystery, a thriller without resolution? It hasn’t come to me yet.

Welcome to my fictional world…….
